In Japan, there are these constantly sold out concerts for a miraculous singer-Hatsune Miku. You might not know who this is, but she recently made news on Tomsguide. So, this sounds like any other cutesie popstar, right? Wrong. Hatsune isn't real. Though only slightly less fake and ridiculous than Hannah Montana, I would actually pay to go to her show-mainly because she is a hologram. Her voice is synthesized from a program as well, and the results are nothing less than astounding. She looks incredibly better than the holographic images that we are working on right now here in the states, but she isn't actually as complicated to create.
I think this is awesome, when I first heard about this story, I was like no way this looks anything like a real person-and I was kinda right. The great thing is, she looks better! Since she isn't supposed to look totally realistic, she can have incredible features that a human just couldn't pull off.
I love this, and I can't wait to see what her male counterpart shall look like-or hear the English version of Hatsune. Maybe I'll get to see her in concert someday.
Wow, this is pretty cool! I'm surprised this has become so darn successful! I never would've guessed. It's amazing what technology can do these days. And at least Japan's putting it to some good use.
